microsoft turtixXero has integrated between its cloud accounting software and Microsoft Power BI to provide an opportunity for small businesses to collect and collate big data

Software firm Xero is working alongside Microsoft to offer a way for its customers to collect and collate its own big data across Xero’s software.

“Business tools today are smarter and more connected than ever and finally available to the small business sector,” said Xero CEO Rod Drury.

“The accounting industry runs on Microsoft Office and we're delighted to further integrate with Microsoft's Power BI to give our users easier ways to access and analyse information from Xero and other sources to make smart, informed decisions.”

Xero stated its committed to finding the potential of big data for small business, adding it understands that the true value of data can be assessed in the ability to obtain insights, while also gaining information on the health of their business.

"Technology exists for us to transform and change what we can do," stated James Phillips, Microsoft corporate vice president and general manager of Microsoft's Business Applications, Platform and Intelligence organisation.
